Stainless steel Yule log mould with insert 30 cm
Stainless steel brings exactly what a good Yule log mould needs: stability, durability, and a smooth surface that lets your finished log release cleanly. This mould with its matching plastic insert is the reusable essential for anyone who wants to create their own Yule log, and it will accompany you through many festive seasons.
Robust stainless steel that lasts year after year
The semi-circular stainless steel trough measures 30 x 9 cm with a height of 7 cm and withstands temperatures down to minus 60 degrees in the freezer as well as use in the oven. The material is dishwasher-safe and will not warp, so you can use your mould again and again.
The insert shapes the clean cavity
The plastic insert measuring 28.5 x 4.5 cm and 3 cm in height sits in the trough and creates the ideal recess for a filling, a mousse core, or a fruity insert. It tolerates temperatures from -20 to 35 °C, but must not go in the dishwasher or the oven.
Removable feet for a secure stand
The mould stands firmly on the work surface thanks to its removable feet, which makes filling and freezing considerably easier. Since the ends do not seal completely, it is best to avoid overly liquid mixtures and to place a food-safe film or a cake lining strip on the bottom so your Yule log releases effortlessly.
How does the Yule log release best from the mould?
Before filling, place an acetate sheet — also known as Rhodoid — or another food-safe film on the bottom of the mould. This allows the frozen mixture to separate cleanly from the stainless steel, and your Yule log retains its smooth, glossy surface. Avoid overly liquid preparations, as the ends of the mould do not seal completely.
What is the insert for?
The insert creates a cavity in the centre of your Yule log into which you can place a separate core of mousse, fruit Jelly, or cream. This produces a beautiful core when sliced, which enhances both the look and the flavour of your Christmas log and makes it look like it came straight from the patisserie.
Wash both parts in warm water before first use and after each use, and dry them thoroughly. The stainless steel can go in the dishwasher without hesitation, but clean the plastic insert by hand so that it retains its shape for a long time.
Imagine the moment when you slice your homemade Yule log and the festive gathering is amazed: with this mould, you lay the foundation for your most beautiful Christmas baking.
