Cake ribbon

A cake ribbon turns a plain cake into a little gift: it wraps around the edge of the cake and adds a splash of colour. We stock it in nine colours, from light blue and light green through yellow and orange to lilac, violet, emerald green, turquoise and silver.
Which colours are available?
You can choose from:
- turquoise, light blue and emerald green for fresh, cool tones
- light green and yellow for spring and summer
- orange for autumn and Halloween
- lilac and violet for festive cakes
- silver for weddings, anniversaries and Christmas
Fitting the ribbon: tips from the bakery
Work out the length from the circumference: diameter times 3.14, plus two centimetres for the overlap. A 20 cm cake therefore needs a little over 64 cm. Chill the cake before fitting the ribbon so the cream and icing are firm. For a cream cake, put a layer of baking parchment between ribbon and cake unless the product page says otherwise. Fasten the end with a small bow or a discreet dot of glue.

Is the ribbon edible?
These ribbons are intended as decorative ribbon. Each product page states whether an item may touch food directly. If in doubt, keep ribbon and cream apart with baking parchment.
How long should the ribbon be?
The circumference of the cake plus the overlap, as calculated above. It is better to cut it slightly long than too short.
What else do I need for packaging?
