With fondant smoothers, modelling tools and embossing wheels you get cakes smooth and shape sugar figures, flowers and leaves. We stock around 25 tools for smoothing and modelling fondant, modelling paste and flower paste.

Which tools do we offer?

For smoothing: fondant smoothers, the icing smoother and the smoother for coating cakes give an even surface. The ganache smoother (23 x 7.5 cm) is made for ganache, the adjustable sharp-edge tool for clean edges.

For modelling: there are modelling tool sets (4 and 6 pieces), ball modelling tools in small and large and in acrylic (Ø 22 mm), the "Sail" modelling tool with two soft silicone wings, a modelling tool for flowers and leaves, a needle tool and flower and leaf formers. Modelling boards, foam mats, fondant scissors, a cutting wheel and an embossing and marking wheel round off the kit.

Tips from our kitchen

  • Smoothing: after laying fondant on, smooth from the centre outwards without pressing hard. Prick air bubbles with a needle and smooth again.
  • Shaping flowers: roll flower paste thinly on a foam mat and thin the edge with the ball tool. The petal turns out soft and natural.
  • Edges: the sharp-edge tool gives clean edges on ganache cakes.
  • Working cleanly: grease or dust the worktop and tools only very lightly, otherwise the fondant sticks.

Frequently asked questions

Which tools do I need to start?

One fondant smoother, a modelling tool set and a ball tool are enough for your first cakes and figures.

What is the difference between fondant and flower paste?

Fondant covers cakes; flower paste can be rolled thinner and suits delicate flowers. Find both under fondant and flower paste.
