A good mixing bowl and a sturdy whisk are the foundation for batters, creams and whipped egg whites. We stock over 30 stainless-steel and plastic mixing bowls and whisks in many lengths.

Which mixing bowls and whisks do we offer?

The stainless-steel bowls range from 0.5 to 6.7 litres, plus the 2000 ml stainless-steel mixing bowl. The plastic bowls come in 0.4, 1, 2.5, 4 and 8 litres, some transparent so you can see the contents. The mixing bowls with handle (Ø 16, 20 and 24 cm, 1100 to 3500 ml) are handy for pouring and holding. Also attractive are the French Grey and Pure White mixing bowls and the heart-shaped bowl sets (English Rose, Pure White, Latte, 3 pieces each).

The whisks range from 20 to 45 cm, including flat versions, plus the Danish dough whisk for heavy doughs. The Teiger cleaning cloth removes dough residue from the table and your hands.

Which bowl for what?

  • Stainless steel: sturdy, for egg whites, cream and custards, and good for chilling. Egg whites whip best in a clean, grease-free bowl.
  • Plastic: light and affordable, ideal for prep, weighing and mise en place.
  • With handle: for pouring batter or icing.
  • Danish whisk: for yeast dough and thick mixtures, easier to clean than a classic whisk.

Frequently asked questions

What size do I need for a cake batter?

For a normal cake batter a 2.5 to 4 litre bowl is enough. For sponge or egg whites go larger so the volume has room.

Which whisk for what?

Long whisks (35 to 45 cm) for large quantities, short ones for ganache and small creams.

For weighing and measuring: kitchen scales and measuring jugs. For folding and scraping, dough scrapers and bowl scrapers. For serving, see the bowls in our tableware range. Two basic recipes: Biskuit and Vanillecreme.
