Cake supports & turntables

When people hear cake stand, many think of multi-tier stands. This category holds something different and often more important for decorating: cake supports, turntables, cake boards and accessories. There are around 20 items in total.

What do we have?

Plastic cake supports come in 4 mm (12 pieces), 8 mm (8 pieces), 18 mm (4 pieces) and 2 cm (4 pieces) diameter. Turntables include a Wilton (28 cm), an aluminium one (29 cm), a tilting one (23 cm), an electric one (28 cm) and the automatic 'Spinner' board. As presentation boards there are the Vintage plate (30 cm), White Vintage (23 cm), White Small, Strawberry, French Grey, Cornflower and Mustard, plus the Romantik cake stand (22 cm) and a glass cake dome (22 cm). The Wilton cake lifter (25 cm) lets you lift cake layers cleanly.

Which item for which purpose?

• Turntable for covering and piping: the cake turns easily. A tilting one helps with angled designs.
• Supports for tiered cakes: thinner ones for light elements, thicker ones for heavy tiers.
• Boards and stands for serving and presentation.

Are there multi-tier cake stands?

We do not stock them in this category. For stability across several tiers, supports and sturdy boards are the right choice.

How many supports do I need?

That depends on the weight and diameter of the tier. As a rule, several evenly spaced supports are used per tier.
