Teardrop shaped cake rings
There are 8 products.
Teardrop cake rings give cakes and desserts a soft silhouette: round at the bottom, tapering to a point at the top. We stock eight teardrop rings from Ø 14 to 30 cm, all 5 cm high.
Which teardrop rings do we have?
The range is clear: teardrop ring in Ø 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30 cm, each 5 cm high. The small rings up to Ø 18 cm suit birthday cakes for a small gathering or gift cakes. From Ø 22 cm the teardrop cake becomes a celebration cake for a larger group.
What is the teardrop shape good for?
- Christenings and births: the teardrop looks soft and playful and suits baby themes.
- Petals: several teardrops of equal size laid in a circle make a flower.
- Leaf and nature: mirrored or slightly tilted as a leaf shape for spring and autumn cakes.
The teardrop is an alternative to the classic oval or round shape when you want something unusual but calm. The curved shape of the comma cake ring looks more dynamic.
Tips from the bakery
Place the ring on baking paper and add the batter into the point first so it does not pool there. Sponge works especially well; with the point facing up you can stack several bases neatly. After cooling, loosen the cake from the edge with a thin knife and lift the ring off. Cream and buttercream follow the curve easily; with fondant you need a little patience at the point.
