Cake Topper Cakes
Cakes - the supreme discipline in confectionery
A cake is the culinary highlight of the celebration. In any case, more is more and as high as possible. But how do you go about it? Often the question arises, how big a cake must be, so that everyone gets a piece. But the more difficult question is: how can I make a big cake when I have a small company? Before using a lot of food, you can take a cake dummy to help you. With that you can make big cakes without actually making a big cake.
Before using the dummy, you should cover it with fondant or marzipan. Place the cake dummy on a damp cloth so that it cannot slip away. Now you can coat the cake dummy with some buttercream, royal icing or jam. So the fondant or marzipan can stick better to the dummy cake later. Depending on how you want to present your cake, you can also use buttercream. To roll out the fondant or marzipan, you need a special ingredient, and that is: baker's starch. A similar process is found in cookie baking. To prevent the dough, or in this case the fondant, from sticking to the rolling pin or work surface, sprinkle some baker's starch on the work surface and also on the rolling pin. Baker's starch is a very fine starch obtained from potatoes. The fondant or even the marzipan is carefully rolled out to 2-3 mm and then placed on the dummy cake. In order for the fondant to adhere properly to the cake, you can use a fondant smoother to help you. With the fondant smoother, you now first run the surface of the cake and then the sides. As soon as the dummy and your cake are ready, the individual parts only have to be placed on top of each other. The dummy is very stable, so you don't need any additional support to give the cake stability. Now you can place your edible tier on the dummy and insert the topper in the center of the cake. Now you can add some berries, marzipan or fondant figures or other decorations on your cake and your cake is ready. With this work of art you are certainly perfectly prepared for the occasion. Of course, you can stack as many dummies on top of each other until you reach the optimal height. Try it out! One thing is certain: The Caketopper rounds off any cake perfectly, whether square, round, small or large, it fits perfectly to your homemade cake.
