Recipe for homemade iced tea
Your party is coming up and you want to serve a delicious drink to your guests? Then we have the perfect recipe for homemade iced tea for you.
You need the following ingredients:
500 g water (part 1)
20 g Ceylon black tea
250 g water (part 2)
8 g peppermint herbs
3 g lime blossom
4 cloves
2 organic lemons (juice and zest)
75 g honey
250 g cane sugar
This is how it works:
Bring the water (part 1) to the boil in a large pot.
When the water boils, you can turn off the plate and add the Ceylon black tea and let it steep covered for 5 minutes. For a more intense black tea flavor, you can of course steep the tea longer, but the longer the tea steeps, the more bitter it becomes.
After 5 minutes, pour the tea through a sieve into a large container such as a bowl or similar.
Then boil the second part of the water in a new pot. Once the water boils, you can turn off the heat and add the fresh or dried mint herbs, lime blossoms, cloves and lemon peel.
5. peel the lemon best with a peeler to get larger pieces, the lemon juice is needed later. Let the whole thing now also stand for 5-10 minutes.
6. then tip it through a sieve and mix it with the black tea.
Mix honey and cane sugar in a bowl and add the still hot tea mixture and lemon juice and stir.
If the tea is no longer hot enough to melt the sugar crystals, you can also heat it again until the sugar has dissolved.
Afterwards, pour the mixture through a fine sieve, put it into a liter bottle and chill it.
10. now you have made an intense tasting syrup.
For a delicious iced tea, you only need to pour 1-2 cm of it into a glass and then fill it up with cold water and ice cubes. The syrup is enough for about 20-30 servings.
The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
