Making a DIY Advent calendar is a lovely tradition: 24 little surprises, lovingly wrapped, a new one every day. Here you will find everything you need – boxes, bags and craft sets to make and fill, a mould for your chocolate Advent calendar and a ready-made calendar for keen bakers.

Which Advent calendars do we stock?

  • To fill: reindeer Advent calendar boxes, numbered Santa Advent calendar boxes and the kraft paper Advent calendar.
  • To make: the «Modern Village» craft Advent calendar and the natural and white Advent calendar sets. With the Advent calendar buttons you can give your calendar a personal touch.
  • Chocolate: the Advent calendar chocolate bar mould and the wizard Advent calendar to cast yourself.
  • For keen bakers: the FunCakes and Wilton Advent calendar – a gift for anyone who loves trying new things in the kitchen.

Filling your Advent calendar: ideas from our bakery

The nicest Advent calendars are filled with homemade treats. Biscuits that stay fresh for a long time work well, such as Mailänderli (Swiss butter biscuits), cinnamon stars or Brunsli – our Mailänderli recipe is a safe place to start. Small shapes from our Christmas cookie cutters fit into boxes and bags better than large ones. For chocolate lovers, cast small bars or add chocolates and homemade truffles; moulds and shells are in our Christmas pralines category. Wrap biscuits and chocolates individually so that nothing picks up other flavours and the chocolate does not stick. And on 6 December the door can be a little bigger – that is when St Nicholas comes. For everything else for Advent, see Winter & Christmas.

Frequently asked questions

When should I fill the Advent calendar?

Biscuits and chocolate bars can be wrapped as early as the end of November. Chocolates with a cream ganache are only at their best for about two weeks – so with boxes and bags, fill them in two rounds: the first doors at the end of November, the rest in mid-December.

Where should I put the filled calendar?

Somewhere cool, not next to a radiator or in the sun – otherwise the chocolate melts and crisp biscuits go soft.

When do I need to order so the calendar is ready on 1 December?

Order by 4 pm and your parcel leaves the same day by A-Post, usually arriving the next working day. Do allow a weekend for crafting and baking, though. Delivery is free from CHF 100*.
