A Harry Potter party is a popular theme for a children's birthday – and with the right supplies it stays relaxed for parents too. In this category we have gathered cookie cutters, cupcake cases with toppers, stencils, sprinkles and party tableware for a wizard-themed celebration.

Harry Potter or wizards: two ranges in one category

You will find two kinds of items here. Products with “Harry Potter” or “Hogwarts” in their name carry the familiar designs, such as the HP logo, the Golden Snitch or the Hogwarts houses. Alongside them are general wizard items without Harry Potter designs: napkins, paper plates and cups with a wizard pattern, the wizard cookie cutter set and the wizard hats. The two mix well – for example, Harry Potter designs as the eye-catchers on the cake and cupcakes, and neutral wizard pieces for the rest of the table.

What is there for the cake, cupcakes and biscuits?

  • Cookie cutters: the “HP” logo, glasses and lightning bolt in small and large, the 16-piece wizard cookie cutter set and a wizard hat cutter from our Halloween range.
  • Cupcakes: Harry Potter cupcake cases (30 pieces) and the Harry Potter and Hogwarts sets with 24 cases and 24 toppers each.
  • Cake: the Golden Snitch cake topper crowns the birthday cake, and Super Streusel Zauberschule (90 g) finishes off the edge.
  • Stencils: the HP logo in small and large plus a Harry Potter lettering stencil – for patterns in icing sugar or cocoa.

Party tableware and table decorations

For the table there are Harry Potter paper plates (Ø 23 cm) and Harry Potter cups (250 ml) in packs of 8, plus Harry Potter napkins measuring 33 x 33 cm in packs of 16. The wizard range offers paper plates (Ø 23 cm) and cups in packs of 8 and napkins in packs of 20. The Hogwarts houses balloons (8 pieces) decorate the entrance and chairs, and two wizard hats (Ø 38 x 35 cm and Ø 42 x 32 cm) make the birthday child the star of the day. Garlands, gift bags and much more are waiting in our party accessories, with more theme ideas under Happy Birthday.

Tips from our kitchen

  • Plan the party. Plates and cups come in packs of 8. Count your guests, including the birthday child and siblings, and buy one pack more rather than one too few. Allow two cupcakes and a handful of biscuits per child.
  • Cupcakes with cases and toppers. Fill the cases only two-thirds full so there is room for the frosting. Let the cupcakes cool completely, pipe on the frosting and add the toppers just before serving. Our chocolate cupcake recipe is a reliable base.
  • Biscuits with the HP cutter. The glasses and lightning bolt have narrow sections. So do not roll the chilled dough too thin, and put the cut-out biscuits back in the fridge before baking.
  • Stencil with icing sugar. Lay the stencil flat on the cooled cake, dust icing sugar over it through a fine sieve and lift the stencil straight up. On a light-coloured cake, cocoa stands out more.

Frequently asked questions

Are there items without Harry Potter designs?

Yes. The napkins, plates and cups with a wizard pattern, the wizard hats and the wizard cookie cutter set have no Harry Potter designs. They suit any wizard or witch party.

Can I use the cookie cutters for fondant or marzipan?

Yes. Roll the fondant or marzipan out thinly and dust the cutter lightly with icing sugar or cornflour. You can then place the glasses, lightning bolt or HP logo straight onto the cake.

Are the cupcake sets enough for a whole party?

The Harry Potter and Hogwarts sets each contain 24 cases and 24 toppers, and the Harry Potter cupcake cases come in a pack of 30. For ten children with two cupcakes each, one set is plenty.
