ScrapCooking

ScrapCooking was founded in 2005 by Rose Marie and Stéphane Brémard in Fondettes near Tours and today belongs to Carambelle SAS. The brand was one of the first in France to make fondant and professional cake design products accessible to home bakers. Since 2023 ScrapCooking has been producing its sugar paste in France itself, making it – by its own account – the only French manufacturer of fondant. The broad range includes baking moulds, silicone moulds, cutters, fondant, food colourings, chocolate decorations, cake toppers, kitchen tools and seasonal themed collections. ScrapCooking stands for creative family baking, DIY baking and modern cake decoration – accessible, inspiring and high quality. At miniSchoggi, ScrapCooking ideally complements the range of ingredients and materials for home confectionery.

ScrapCooking – When creative baking didn't yet have a name

In 2005, creative baking was not yet a mass phenomenon in France. Professional confectioners knew the techniques, the products, the possibilities – but the path from the patisserie to the home kitchen was blocked. Rose Marie and Stéphane Brémard saw it differently. By founding ScrapCooking – inspired by the then popular creative scrapbooking hobby, applied to cooking and baking – they created a brand that fulfilled this promise: professional results for everyone. The company now belongs to Carambelle SAS, headquartered in Fondettes near Tours in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Fondant made in France – a milestone that matters

In 2007 ScrapCooking was the first in France to bring sugar paste to home bakers. In 2023 it began producing its own fondant in Fondettes across 2,400 m², following the principle "Produce as close to home as possible". This means direct control over quality, recipe and raw materials, and faster responsiveness to market trends than any supplier reliant on external partners.

The power of the idea: professional techniques for everyone

ScrapCooking's core promise is a translation brief: how can what professionals do be implemented at home? A piping bag is sized and paired with nozzles so that even a first-time rose-piper gets a presentable result. A praline silicone mould is designed so demoulding works without specialist knowledge. Fondant sets include instructions and colour suggestions for beginners. This thoughtfulness – from professional tool to home solution – is ScrapCooking's real core product.

Baking and social media – a partnership in time

ScrapCooking owes a decisive growth surge to two converging phenomena: the rise of social media and the DIY baking boom of the 2010s. Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok turned baking into a visual experience. ScrapCooking was ready: with a product range enabling fondant covering, modelling, drip cakes and mirror glaze. New products were developed with an eye to their wow effect in photos and videos. At the same time ScrapCooking invested in recipe development and content production.

A product range like a creative laboratory

ScrapCooking provides everything for baking as an experience: moulds, cutters, baking mats, piping bags, silicone moulds for chocolate figures. Fondant, glazes, chocolate, flavourings, creams and decoration gels enable professional baking without detours. Food colourings, edible glitter, cake toppers and sugar sprinkles add further depth. Seasonal themed collections for birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, unicorns and dinosaurs follow social media trends. Waffle irons, crêpe makers, popcorn and candy floss machines extend the experience into family celebrations.

Recipe development as a brand service

The in-house recipe development team in Fondettes is an often overlooked but essential part of ScrapCooking's infrastructure. Every new product is tested in real baking scenarios: which recipes work with this fondant? What does a beginner need to be proud of their result? This expertise flows directly into product design, packaging, online content and communication with the ScrapCooking community.

Who is ScrapCooking for?

For everyone – a genuine product range decision, not a marketing promise. For children and families: colourful cutters, simple sets, candy floss machines. For beginners: annotated sets for the first fondant project. For advanced bakers: professional moulds, precise nozzles, specialist materials. And for everyone: the assurance that the materials were developed in France, with a real understanding of what people need at home.

French patisserie tradition meets modern lifestyle

ScrapCooking stands for the democratisation of a craft culture deeply rooted in France. French patisserie is world-renowned for its techniques, aesthetics and precision. ScrapCooking has not touched this tradition, but opened it up – to people without formal training but with a desire for quality, to families who want to bake together, to a generation that sees making things yourself as an expression of personality. Modern enough to actively shape trends, ScrapCooking is a natural partner for miniSchoggi.

ScrapCooking at miniSchoggi – where ingredients meet ideas

miniSchoggi provides the raw material: chocolate, couverture, ingredients for cakes, glacé and bread. ScrapCooking provides the tools and the decoration world. Anyone buying chocolate for pralines finds silicone moulds. Anyone baking a cake finds fondant, cutters and cake toppers. Anyone planning Christmas baking finds seasonal decorations. Together they form the complete path from idea to finished creation – an invitation to bake, decorate and be as creative as you want at home.
