Storing biscuits properly

Only fill the tin once the biscuits have cooled completely. Keep crisp varieties such as Mailänderli or cinnamon stars apart from soft ones like gingerbread – each kind gets its own tin, otherwise the crisp ones go soft. Put baking paper between the layers so decorated biscuits do not stick together. Keep the tins somewhere cool and dark, not next to a radiator. Recipes, moulds and spice for gingerbread are under Gingerbread baking, tins without a Christmas design among our biscuit tins for all year round.

Frequently asked questions

Which size should I choose for a gift?

For a handful of biscuits, the small tins with a bow or the Ø 90 mm figure tins are enough. The large 200 x 200 mm tins are ideal for your festive stock or a mixed selection.

How long do Christmas biscuits keep in a tin?

Butter biscuits such as Mailänderli stay good for two to three weeks in an airtight tin. Biscuits filled with jam or chocolate are best eaten first.

Can I learn to bake Christmas biscuits?

Yes, in our Christmas cookie course in our bakery in Adliswil. Current dates are shown in the course list.
