Cakes - the supreme discipline in confectionery

A cake is the culinary highlight of the celebration. In any case, more is more and as high as possible. But how do you go about it? The question often arises as to how big a cake should be so that everyone gets a slice. But the more difficult question is: how can I make a large cake when I have a small party? Before you use a lot of food, you can use a cake dummy to help you. You can use this to make large cakes without actually having to bake a large cake.
Before using the dummy, you should cover it with fondant or marzipan. Place the cake dummy on a damp cloth to prevent it from slipping. Now you can coat the cake dummy with a little buttercream, royal icing or jam. This will help the fondant or marzipan to stick to the dummy cake later. Depending on how you want to present your cake, you can also use buttercream. To roll out the fondant or marzipan, you need a special ingredient: baking starch. A similar process is used when baking cookies. To prevent the dough, or in this case the fondant, from sticking to the rolling pin or the work surface, sprinkle a little baker's starch on the work surface and also on the rolling pin. Baker's starch is a very fine starch obtained from potatoes. The fondant or marzipan is carefully rolled out to 2-3 mm and then placed on the dummy cake. You can use a fondant smoother to ensure that the fondant adheres properly to the cake. Use the fondant smoother to smooth the surface of the cake first and then the sides. As soon as the dummy and your cake are ready, the individual parts just need to be placed on top of each other. The dummy is very stable, so you don't need any additional supports to give the cake stability. Now you can place your edible tier on the dummy and insert the topper into the cake. Now you can add a few berries, marzipan or fondant figures or other decorations to your cake and your cake is ready. With this work of art, you are certainly perfectly prepared for the occasion. Of course, you can stack as many dummies on top of each other as you like until you reach the perfect height. Try it out! One thing is certain: the caketopper is the perfect finishing touch to any cake, whether square, round, small or large, the figures will fit your homemade cake perfectly.
