Make Cake Pop yourself - this is how it works

A cake pop is a type of cake that is shaped like a lollipop. Cake crumbs are mixed with icing or chocolate and formed into small sweet balls or cubes before being covered with a coating of icing, chocolate or other decorations. The mixture is then attached to lollipop sticks. Cake pops are ideal for creating something beautiful out of leftover cake or cake crumbs.

Many ingredients used for the preparation of cake pops are also found in the ingredients used for baking a traditional cake. The little cakes can thus be created, as desired, with the most diverse flavor variations. There are also many recipes in which ready-made cake mixes are used for the production, instead of a self-mixed cake batter. In any case, cake pops can be prepared in the most diverse ways and taste irresistible.

Once the dough of a cake is baked, it is crumbled into pieces or the already crushed remains of an existing cake are collected. These crumbs are mixed in a bowl with icing or melted chocolate and the finished, well-mixed sweet mixture is formed into balls. However, other shapes, such as cubes or cylinders, can also be created. After that, each ball is attached to a lollipop stick. Once the mixture has solidified, it can be decorated with icing or melted chocolate and sprinkled with sprinkles. Here the imagination can be given free rein. To speed up the solidification process, the tempting cake balls can also be placed in the refrigerator- or frozen.

Cake pops are often brightly colored and designed as balls. These simple shapes can be designed by hand or by using tools. For the small cakes to succeed, complex shapes in particular require the use of such tools. Silicone mold pans and cookie cutters are popular tools for shaping cake pops.
