What is trained with grommets?

Pipe nozzles are always needed when you want to give the mixture a certain shape. If you are filling compote into a shortcrust pastry base or delicious ganache into hollow praline balls, a piping bag with a cut-off tip is sufficient. But if you want to fill éclairs or doughnuts almost invisibly, make elegantly decorated cupcakes, cakes with buttercream flowers, even macarons or fine piped cookies, suitable nozzles are essential.
If you want to create intricate lettering with egg white icing or writing chocolate, it is better to choose a cornet paper instead of a small round nozzle. A perforated nozzle does form beautiful lines, but you have better control over the thickness and direction of the lines with a paper cornet. 

Which spout is used for what?

Each piping nozzle has its own unique uses. The hole and star nozzles may be particularly well-known, but there are many other fabulous and practical shapes to discover. Whether for piping a rose, for filling or to refine your baked goods with little stars made from cream or custard, the huge selection of nozzles makes for fantastic decorations and delicious pastry chef dishes.

Perforated grommets

Perforated nozzles are used to decorate or fill various pastries. They can also be used to make small and large decorations in the form of dots. Macarons, éclairs and choux are perfectly and evenly piped with a 10 mm diameter perforated nozzle. These nozzles can also be used to pipe shortbread cookies in the desired shape, for example in the form of long tongues or hearts made from two drops. A slightly smaller nozzle is used for filling éclairs, choux and macarons. With firm ganache, you can even form a praline similar to a mountain peak. Very small round nozzles are used for an elegant garland on the edge of a cake or for fine cake decorations. These can also be used to fill the inner parts of a buttercream flower if no special pollen nozzle is available. 

Star nozzles

There are numerous possible uses for star nozzles when decorating cakes. By using different sizes and piping techniques, countless variations of decorations can be created for cakes and cupcakes. Exquisite cupcake toppings can also be conjured up effortlessly with large star nozzles. The French star nozzle with its many small tips is also ideal for making piped cookies. It is particularly popular with us for making éclairs. 

Russian grommets

With these nozzles, you can conjure up beautiful flowers and designs from buttercream in no time at all. Thanks to their unique shape, the entire pattern is created in one go, provided that the mixture is firm enough. It creates a particularly impressive effect when you combine different buttercream colors. 

Leaf grommet

Use leaf nozzles to artistically spray fine leaves. Place the leaves in the gaps between the flowers as a crowning touch for a particularly impressive effect. 

Special grommets

The remaining spouts often have a special use. The name usually already reveals their purpose, such as the filling flower spout or the Berlin filling spout. The dahlia or petal nozzle can be used to artistically spray the petals of various flowers. Star ribbon nozzles are ideal for decorations and especially for stunning basket patterns. In bakeries, you can also find Berlin filling nozzles, which can be used to add a sweet filling to various treats. 

Why do you need piping nozzle sets?

With a piping nozzle set, you will be perfectly equipped in no time at all and can create a variety of beautiful cake decorations. Depending on the set, you will receive a good selection of nozzles for decorating cakes and cupcakes with rosettes and dots or an assortment for specific applications. With a flower nozzle set, you can easily pipe flowers in different shapes and sizes. In addition to the various nozzles, some sets also include a flower pin on which the flowers are piped before they are placed on cupcakes and muffins, for example. Small nozzles with narrow openings are particularly suitable for decorating with icing or royal icing. Piping bags: disposable or reusable piping bags?

Alongside the adapter, the reusable piping bag is one of the most popular accessories for piping nozzles. They are also used by professionals and make a significant contribution to reducing waste. The reusable bags are available in our store in various sizes and made of plastic or cotton. However, the main difference to disposable piping bags is their stability. We offer a large selection of disposable piping bags and many of them can be used several times until they are no longer sturdy enough. Many of the bags are therefore suitable for cleaning, but there is a basic rule for reuse in the confectionery industry. A fresh pastry bag is always used when decorating, garnishing or filling masses that will only be cooled. If the mixture is then baked, you can also use a well-washed and dry bag.

How are syringe nozzles cleaned?

Once the cake is decorated, the topping adorns the cake and the éclairs are baked and filled, it's time to tidy up. Pipe the leftover filling onto cling film or into a container so that it can be reused later. Remove the nozzle from the piping bag and dispose of it unless you want to use it for other pastries. The nozzle is very easy to clean. Many of our products in this category are made of high-quality stainless steel and have a seamless finish. They can easily be cleaned in the dishwasher. Aluminum nozzles can also be cleaned quickly by hand and therefore also have a long service life.
