Forest animals

Forest animal cookie cutters are our most versatile animal group: fox, owl, hedgehog, squirrel, deer and stag suit autumn, children's birthdays and the Advent season alike. This category holds over 60 shapes in different sizes, from tiny mini motifs to large silhouettes.

Which forest animals do we stock?

The choice is biggest for fox and owl: a sitting fox, Fero and Fiete, a Decora fox, and the owls Alva, Petie, Frido and Hugo, an owl pair and a mummy-and-baby set. Then there are hedgehog, squirrel (large or 8 cm), fawn small and large, stag large, small or leaping in 5 and 12.5 cm, bear, Bernese bear, wolf, elk, snail, sparrow and bat. The reindeer with Father Christmas and the embossed reindeer head are a nod to Advent. Many shapes also come with a plunger and are collected under plunger cookie cutters.

Getting forest animal biscuits right

• Pick the right size: mini shapes for the biscuit plate or cake decoration, large shapes for gingerbread and gifts.
• Finely drawn shapes: for antlers, ears and tails, chill the dough well and roll it a little thicker (about 5 mm) so nothing snaps off.
• Decorate: a fox's orange, an owl's brown and a hedgehog's spines are easy to suggest with icing or sprinkles. As a base dough, try our chocolate butter biscuits recipe.

For autumn and Halloween, the subcategory autumn & woodland cookie cutters fits well. Chicks, lambs and horses are among the farm animals, dolphins and penguins among the aquatic animals. For an overview of all animals, see animals.

Frequently asked questions

Which cutters suit small children?

Simple, round shapes such as hedgehog, bear or squirrel with few corners. They cut out easily and can be painted with icing afterwards.

Are there sets?

Yes, for example the forest set (2 pieces), the owl set mummy and baby, or the rabbit family. The advantage of sets is that the sizes are matched.
