What types of chocolate packaging are there?

Board packaging made from cardboard or plastic

When you think of chocolate, the classic chocolate bar is probably one of the first things that comes to mind. It smells wonderful when you take it out of the packaging and you break off a piece with a loud crack. Moulding your own bars is very easy with high-quality polycarbonate moulds and couverture, so you can add all kinds of ingredients to your treats. The packaging for the gift is then selected according to the size. Purchased bars are often wrapped in aluminum foil. However, we also recommend cellophane bags, especially for special bar shapes. For square bars and bases, the former are stacked. They are packed individually in flat cellophane bags, the overhanging part is folded over and glued on. If required, the chocolate bar can then be slid into a beautiful cardboard bar shape. This way, it is perfectly protected, its chocolatey aroma is preserved and you can admire the treat through the opening in the box.

Chocolate packaging

Pralines are certainly among the most elegant chocolate creations there are. They come in a wide variety of formats, small, large, oblong or completely round. They therefore deserve to be individually packaged. For cut and molded chocolates with a relatively square or round base, chocolate boxes with a liner are particularly suitable. This also prevents them from sliding around and also looks great. There is also a packaging solution for very long molded chocolates. If an insert is already present, it can be easily removed. Tall confectionery such as mountain peaks or heaps of cornflakes look great in larger folding boxes. These folding boxes are briefly shaped and the precious pieces can then be placed inside. Both transparent and completely closed lids are available, so you can customize your ideal packaging.

Cellophane bags

The chocolate glistens under the foil, you can hear the gentle crackling when you open it and the wonderful aroma of the wrapped chocolate envelops you. This simple yet incredibly versatile packaging enhances any chocolate creation. The size must of course be tailored to the treat to be packaged. But then the bags can be used to wrap truffles, chocolate bars, all kinds of biscuits, sweets and candies and even animal figures or high heels made of couverture.

Transparent cubes

These cubes impress with their unusual packaging design. They offer an appealing look and good protection for the treats they contain. The folding boxes can also be stored again afterwards to save space.

Cookie tins

Cookie tins are perfect for chocolate creations in slightly larger quantities. They are also the perfect packaging for chocolate-covered cookies or delicious almond or cornflake chocolate bites. They are available in different shapes and colors and also protect the chocolate inside from light and moisture. The biscuit tins are also sustainable, as you can reuse them hundreds of times.

Special packaging

Whether it's a large gift or a small thank you, you'll find the right packaging for more special creations here. If you want to give a few or particularly small pieces of confectionery as a gift, the handbags are perfect. The folding box can be closed easily and securely and looks great. With names on a label, they also make super cute name tags for the seating arrangements at a party.

If, on the other hand, it is a particularly large treat, cake boxes or biscuit tins are more suitable. Chocolate can be used to make large flowers, for example, as can be seen on one of the cakes in our basic cake course 2. For longer transportation, these can also be transported separately from the cake in various types of secure food packaging.

A very special gift is a high heel made of chocolate with an artistic finish and bright colors. Transparent packaging materials are particularly practical for such impressive delicacies. We have transparent bags with a gold base to keep the shoe stable or transparent folding boxes. Of course, these are just as suitable for any other chocolate figure, from rabbits and tractors to Santa Claus, as long as the size is right.

Pâtisserie trays are the best choice for delicious desserts that need to be either securely wrapped or presented in a handy way. The treats are well secured on the transparent plastic bases with rims and can be held and eaten straight away.

Wooden boxes

Our wooden boxes are characterized by their elegance, quality and simple design. They offer particularly good protection thanks to their stability, while the golden inlay serves to separate the truffles and molded chocolates and prevent them from slipping. A matching blister acts as a cushion to protect the chocolates from damage caused by the wooden lid. Thanks to its robustness and the possibility of multiple reuse, the wooden box is environmentally friendly and scores highly in terms of sustainability.

Tall boxes of chocolates

If you have lots of pieces and little space, then slightly taller boxes of chocolates are the solution! Fill them with delicious truffles or beautiful cut or molded chocolates. An insert as an intermediate base is particularly practical.

These boxes not only look good, some of them are sealed with a beautifully designed strip of strong paper instead of a mesh. Let your creativity run wild and customize your chocolate packaging as you wish. You can paint a piece of paper nicely or print it individually. Somewhat firmer paper is particularly suitable as a material. Then cut out the design. For a special finishing touch, you can cut one or both edges with zig-zag scissors. Wrap them around the closed package, fold the edges inwards and secure them with adhesive tape. You now have a specially designed wrapper for your chocolates!

What tools and accessories are available for the individual packaging of chocolate and pralines?

Chocolate boxes, transparent boxes and transparent bags for chocolate bars or figurines are sometimes simply not enough for the perfect presentation of your treats. There are even more accessories to impress every recipient.

Noble meshes

A pretty stitch in the right color always fits! We have a large selection of stitches with clips. These are particularly practical for closing cellophane bags. Unfortunately, they don't fit around boxes of chocolates, so you can use a gift ribbon and tie a nice mesh.

Cardboard tag

Where there is a stitch, you can also attach a pretty tag. Give them suitable lettering, whether small greetings or just a name, and tie them to the bow. It is always important to choose the right tag, for example there are special tags for Christmas or neutral tags for different festivals.

Chocolate capsules

Truffles and molded chocolates are not only beautifully presented with chocolate capsules, they are also additionally secured when they are transported to the recipient after storage. They prevent the precious pieces from slipping and knocking against each other. You can put both together in the packaging. Our range includes both paper and aluminum tins. The latter can also be filled directly with solid ganache.

Aluminum foil

Thin, colorful aluminum foils are perfect for delicious truffles or chocolate eggs. You can easily impress with quality. Aluminum foil protects the chocolate from moisture and light.

May bug feet

You eat with your eyes and what could be better than these fun decorations? With the right mold, you can create a great filled chocolate beetle in no time at all. A little chocolate is then glued onto the May bug's feet in the right size.

What do I need to bear in mind when wrapping high-quality chocolate?

Once the right packaging has been chosen and the chocolatey treats have been made, it's time to put them together to make a fantastic gift for the recipient.
Similar rules apply as for storing the sweets. To preserve their freshness, we recommend keeping them cool, but not too cold. A dry cellar without direct sunlight works well, while a damp fridge with different flavors of vegetables or cheese is not ideal. Before you wrap the chocolates, they should already be nice and cool to prevent them from melting due to hand heat.

Safe transportation of the product is particularly important, as it would be an incredible shame if the carefully created delicacy was damaged at the end. For truffles and molded chocolates, chocolate capsules and a little tissue paper around the edge of the box are often sufficient. If you are transporting a chocolate figurine in a transparent bag, it can be stored lying softly at the top of the bag. If the figurine or a chocolate high heel is in a transparent box with a gold base, you can simply stick it to the gold base with some edible glue or a little chocolate and pack the box securely. Bar shapes are particularly easy to secure. In high-quality packaging, they can be easily stacked and transported in a bag or rucksack.

If the delicacies do have a few flaws, such as chipped edges or air holes, there are simple tricks to conceal them. Use white chocolate strips or pearls to elegantly hide the holes. Glitter spray or powder from the tin can be used to embellish surfaces so that any lack of shine, marks on the surface or irregularities are barely noticeable.
