Stencil footprints elf, 2 pieces

The first snow has fallen, Christmas is just around the corner and when you return to the warm room a tea or hot chocolate is just the thing. Winter is the perfect time to fire up the oven and start baking. Delicious Guetzli are made for Christmas, but a great dessert is still missing for Christmas Eve. Create with this stencil the little footprints of an elf who walked across the cake, cupcakes, cookies or even across the floor to the Christmas tree. So you bring the eyes of children and adults to shine.

These sweet footprints look especially good on Christmas pastries. To do this, fix the stencil in the desired location and transfer the footprints to your creation with food coloring or powder, royal icing (egg white icing) or cocoa powder. Of course, there are no limits to what you can do with the stencil. You can use it for decorating milk foam, for example, or how about a footprint trace across the cake, which you present at Christmas dinner.

As you can see, the field of application is enormously huge. Why not leave your children to design Christmas cards this year and give them this stencil as a painting template. And so quickly, we have found another field of application for this stencil.

And this is how easy you apply the stencil. The example is for a royal icing decoration on a cake covered with fondant.

1. Make the royal icing (egg white icing). This is just powdered sugar and egg white. The aim is to obtain a thick mass, which is easy to spread and does not run.

2. Place the stencil on the desired location. So that the stencil holds well, you can certainly give something of the Royal Icing on the back of the stencil and fix it so on the surface. You can simply wipe away these excess dots with a household cloth after removing the stencil.

3. Now for the application of the mass on the stencil. Here there are two variants.

a. On the one hand, you can spread the mixture on the template using a piping bag and then smooth it out

b. The second variant would be to spread the mass directly on the template with an angled spatula.

It is important to know that there is no right or wrong. Each person must find out for themselves what is better or more pleasant.

4. Finally, all you have to do is remove the stencil and let the royal icing dry.
