Baking and chocolate courses near Zurich for everyone who loves to bake, work with chocolate or cook: in our kitchen in Adliswil, around 20 minutes from Zurich main station, we offer around 50 course topics – from pralines and cakes to bread and patisserie, right through to fresh pasta and apéro snacks. You do the work yourself, an expert shows you every step, and you take your creations home.

Which courses does miniSchoggi offer?

  • Praline courses: from the relaxed praline atelier and the praline course to the advanced course with chocolate shells, piped and cut pralines. Before Christmas there is also the Christmas chocolates course.
  • Chocolate courses: casting a chocolate St Nicholas or Easter bunny, chocolate bark, chocolate decorations, the couverture tempering course and Bean to Bar – from cocoa bean to your own bar.
  • Cake courses: cake basics 1 and 2 for assembling, layering and glazing, plus cake decorating with fondant, buttercream flowers and sugar flowers.
  • Patisserie and macarons: macarons, éclairs, choux au craquelin, cream slices, patisserie slices and Swiss chocolate-coated marshmallow kisses.
  • Bread and pastries: Zopf, speciality breads, pretzels and croissants, plus yeast pastries, puff pastry, cookies, petits fours and Christmas biscuits.
  • Savoury: fresh pasta for beginners and advanced cooks, quick and easy apéro, and cooking courses such as Turkish home cooking.
  • Children's courses: courses designed for young bakers and chocolatiers.

How a course works

Every course is led by a professional: bread courses, including the croissant and pretzel courses, by a baker; chocolate, praline, cake, patisserie, apéro and modelling courses as well as the Bean to Bar course by a trained pastry chef and confectioner. After a short demonstration it is your turn. Tempering, piping or plaiting – you only really see what matters when you try it yourself, and that is exactly when your course leader is beside you to help.

You take home all the recipes and detailed instructions, so your creations work in your own kitchen too. Whatever you used on the course, such as couverture, glucose, chocolate moulds or a tempering machine, is available in our shop in Adliswil and in the online shop with over 8,000 products.

Which course is right for you?

New to it: the praline atelier, basic pasta course, cookie basics, sugar flowers and cake basics 1 are designed as starting points. Ready to go further: the couverture tempering course is the best foundation for anything involving chocolate; after that, try the advanced praline course or cake basics 2. Looking for an outing for two or with friends: the chocolate St Nicholas, chocolate kiss or macaron courses are sociable, and you go home with your own creations.
