Cake discs are the insider tip for bomb-proof layer cakes. The gold bottoms can be used together with a cake ring and serve as a base to lift the cake with the help of a spatula. This way you prevent the cream or the bottom of the cake from breaking or the cake from falling apart when you move it. The base is neutral white and has a diameter of 28 cm. Cake discs are great tools and are also used in the professional field. They make it easier to work with cakes and allow you to lift your cake safely. They give extra stability to particularly soft and brittle bases and rather heavy cakes, but small cakes also benefit from a cake disc as a base.

The cake discs facilitate the work around baking. They can be used together with a cake ring and serve as a base to lift the cake with the help of a spatula. For this purpose, a cardboard is usually used, which is 2-4 cm smaller in diameter than the inserted cake ring and the cake itself. The cake stand prevents the biscuit from breaking when it is lifted. The coasters bring stability to the work and also make it easier to spread frosting around the edge of the cake or to add almonds to a cream cake.

The cake slices are placed in the cake ring as a base before you insert the cake. For this purpose, a cardboard box is usually used that is 2-4 cm smaller in diameter than the inserted cake ring and the cake itself. To do this, you should place a slightly larger cake base under the small base. This will help you lift the cake and place it on the final cake plate. The cake base prevents the sponge from breaking when it is lifted. It brings stability to the work and also makes it easier to brush the edge of the cake or add almonds to a cream cake.

To do this, coat the edge with a slightly sticky substance, which can be whipped cream, buttercream, chocolate or the filling itself. Then carefully move a spatula between the base and the cake slice. Now lift the cake at an angle, just enough to be able to slide your hand in to the cake slice without touching the bottom edge of the cake. Now move the spatula to the other side and lift it as well. This way you can lift your cake without damaging the edge and place it on your hand.
As soon as you can hold the cake well on one hand, take almond flakes, hazelnut brittle, chocolate sprinkles or another decoration material of your choice with the other hand and press it from the bottom to the top with the flat hand to the edge of your cake. Turn it a little bit and decorate the whole edge. As before, you can set the cake down with the spatula. To prevent your tier cake from sinking from the weight of the different tiers, you will need additional cake sticks. 3-4 sticks per tier are enough to hold your cake. Sturdy cake plate made of high quality cardboard

The cake base is made of food-safe cardboard and is covered with a tear-resistant, noble aluminum foil. The surface does not soak thanks to the foil and also makes the cake look fresh for a long time. Despite the reliable surface, you should not reuse the underlay, because the cake base can not be cleaned.
