Spruce needle oil
Spruce is not only a beautiful tree, it also has very special properties and flavors. Thus, many dishes can be refined with the tart oil. The harvest for the oil takes place from May to October. The young spruce needles are particularly aromatic and give a wonderful flavor to a variety of dishes and drinks. The oil tastes earthy-tart to fresh and lemony.
Taste explosion in the confectionery
Even if the spruce needle oil is not seen so often, there are already chocolates with the tart oil. But why buy when you can also make chocolate yourself? The spruce oil can thus simply be added to the ready tempered couverture. Make sure that you add no more than 1-2 drops to the couverture. Now stir the couverture well with a silicone spatula and taste it. If the aroma is not intense enough, you can add more.
You can also refine a delicious praline filling with the oil.
For a ganache with an earthy aroma you will need:
70 g whole cream10
g Glucose
5 g Sorbitol
5 g butter1
drop spruce needle oil140
g milk couverture
1 piping bag
Put the crushed couverture drops in a chrome steel bowl. In a small saucepan, add the cream, glucose, butter and sorbitol. Bring everything to a boil, stirring constantly with a whisk. Pour the hot cream into the bowl with the prepared couverture pieces and let the bowl stand for 1 minute. Using a whisk, gently stir the entire mixture until it becomes a uniform mass. Now add 1-2 drops of the oil to the ganache and stir again. Now take the piping bag and fill the ganache into it. Close the bag with a clamp at the top of the opening so that nothing can flow out. Leave the ganache to cool in the room for 15 minutes. The ganache is enough for about 25 to 30 hollow bodies. To this ganache fits the Praline mold sheet 32 chocolates or the Chocolates bowls pine cones.
Spruce oil for internal use
Oil is actually used everywhere in the kitchen. This oil can be used for external applications beyond the expiration date. We show you what the spruce can do. Primarily, the oil is used to refine other foods. So you can refine honey, curd, creams, mousses or glaces with the oil. Refine cookies, cookies or a Gugelhupf with the lemony-tart oil to surprise your guests with the aroma. The oil is also a unique flavor carrier in the production of syrup and can thus flavor cocktails or other drinks. For coughs or insomnia, the oil can work wonders. For this, simply add 1 drop to a hot tea and enjoy.
Hearty dishes also harmonize perfectly with the spruce oil. Thus, spruce tastes fantastic with a sauce hollandaise to asparagus. In various marinades for game or pork, the oil tastes particularly good.
Spruce oil for external use
The spruce oil appeals not only to the sense of taste. In case of a cold, a droplet can be put into the inhaler mixed with a little water. In this way, the respiratory tract can be cleared. You can also use the oil as a bath salt aroma. To do this, either perfume the bath salt with 1-2 drops or add it directly to the hot water. Unlike us humans, moths, ticks and other insects do not like the scent of spruce. Thus, the oil can also be applied directly to the skin, but here, too, caution is advised. A single drop can be irritating to sensitive areas and cause redness.

WarningThere
