Number candles

Number candles are the classic on a birthday cake: one number for the age, and everyone knows at once who is being celebrated. We stock over 200 number candles, covering the digits 0 to 9 in many colours and finishes.

Which number candles do we stock?

Most of the range is gold glitter and silver glitter. You will also find rose gold glitter, white and gold, rose gold with pink glitter, and plain numbers in red, blue and pink. Rainbow number candles are a good choice for a children's party. For milestone birthdays such as 18, 30, 40, 60, 70 or 80, the number is also available as a single gold glitter candle, and the 50 comes in white and gold.

Using number candles well

Match the colour to your cake: gold and silver glitter look striking on a dark chocolate cake or a drip cake, rose gold and pink suit pastel shades, and red and blue suit bold children's cakes. For two-digit ages such as 25 or 36, set two candles side by side. On fondant or soft buttercream, push the candle in just before serving so the covering does not crack. For the edge of the cake, straight candles complete the number in the centre.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a two-digit age?

Use two single number candles, for example a 3 and a 5 for 35. For 18, 30, 40, 60, 70 and 80 the number is also available as one candle.
