Modeling Tool Shape & Structure

The modeling stick is ideal for thinning out flowers and leaves from fondant, marzipan, flower paste or modeling chocolate. To do this, simply roll out the fondant, for example, cut out with any cutter and further thin out the edges on a foam mat. This will give to the flowers and leaves their real look. The thinner the rose petal or flower, the more intricate it will appear. Give the petals a slight curve and decorate your leaves with fine veins. This is no problem with the Form & Structure modeling stick. This is how you create fine patterns that bring your homemade flowers to life.

Modeling tool Shape & Structure - Application

Cut out a flower shape from fondant, flower paste or other modeling clay. With the slightly rounded head, they can now shape the leaves a little rounder. To do this, apply light pressure to the center of each leaf while rolling the modeling stick gently from side to side. Your leaves will curve slightly this way. To make them look a little more delicate, you can repeat the same procedure with a little more pressure on the edge of the leaf. This will make the edge thinner.
To make a flower with ruffle-like appearance, they cut out several circle or very rough flower shapes. Using the same head, you can now create the ruffle look. A little more pressure is needed here, but be careful not to tear the flowers. Make only very small rolling motions so that there are lots of little bulges around the edge of the circle. Once you are satisfied with the edge, fold the smallest circle in half twice. Then place it on the next larger circle and repeat this procedure until you are satisfied with the size of your flower.
For a realistic leaf, the pointed tool is the right choice. With it, you can carve fine leaf veins into the cut-out shape.
The possible uses are endless. Of course, you can also paint fine patterns with the tools or use them for modeling figures. Use the pointed tool to form eye sockets in which black sugar beads can then be inserted or remove excess material from your figure without damaging it. Try different techniques and become a modeling pro!
