Perforated silicone mat, 38.5 x 28.5 cm
All your creations will be a success with a silicone mat. Thanks to its temperature resistance from -40 °C to +230 °C and optimum heat distribution, the mat is suitable for use as a baking mat, for example, and can then be placed in the freezer with the baked goods. Such a silicone mat can also be used for rolling out cookie dough and fondant or for pouring caramel, as the surface properties prevent the masses from sticking together. However, it is better to place the masses on a cutting board for cutting.
Silicone mat - Use
A silicone mat is perfect for rolling out dough and modeling pastes. It is best to make the dough the day before and leave it in the fridge overnight. Then, depending on the recipe, knead the dough again briefly or roll it out straight away. Dust the silicone mat with a little flour. Knead the fondant, marzipan and other modeling pastes well and then roll them out on the silicone mat sprinkled with a little baking starch. You can then cut out different shapes and place them on baking paper or on the edge of the silicone mat.
The silicone mat can also be used for baking. Place your cut-out biscuits, ready-made bread, small rolls or pastries on the mat and place them in the preheated oven using a baking tray. The mat distributes the heat evenly, but you will get the best baking results with a perforated tray or a rack.
The finished treats can then be frozen straight away with the mat. When laid out, they freeze faster and do not stick together. After about two hours, you can remove the frozen food from the mat and place it in a freezer bag or airtight box, so it can be stored in the freezer for a particularly long time.
Once the rolls have been baked, the flowers modeled, the cake covered and the biscuits cut out, the silicone mat can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. This makes it not only a practical helper for all your creations but also quick to wash.
