Wrapping biscuits and chocolates properly

Only bag biscuits once they have cooled completely – otherwise moisture builds up in the bag and they go soft. Crisp biscuits such as Mailänderli and soft ones such as gingerbread go in separate bags. Our Mailänderli recipe is a classic that makes a lovely gift.

Put chocolates into cases or a chocolate box first and only then into the bag – that way they do not slide around and the surface stays perfect. Frequently asked questions

How long do chocolates keep as a gift?

Chocolates with a cream ganache keep for around two weeks at room temperature. So give them as fresh as possible and write the date you made them on the tag. Until then, keep them dry, out of the sun and away from radiators.

How do I close the clear bags nicely?

With ribbon or raffia, and tie the tag on at the same time. A glitter star sticker keeps the flap closed and looks festive.

Which bag size do I need?

The small bags are enough for a handful of biscuits or six to eight chocolates in cases. For a whole gift basket with a jar, tin or Grittibänz, use the snowflake gift basket clear bag.
