The right chocolate packaging turns home-made chocolates, bars and truffles into a gift that arrives intact and stays fresh. This category holds around 300 items: praline boxes, cases, foils, bar bags, clear bags, tins and even cool bags for transport. Here is an overview of what works for what.

Which chocolate packaging for which treat?

  • Chocolates: praline boxes for 4, 6, 9 or 12 pieces in light brown, gold, silver, red, pink or light blue, wooden boxes for 16, 24 or 36 chocolates, plus clear packaging and praline bags.
  • Bars: our chocolate bar packaging includes bags of 16.5 x 23.5 cm, square bags of 11 x 10.5 cm, bags with gold card; there is also aluminium foil for bars in gold, silver, blue and green.
  • Truffles, eggs and sweets: coloured aluminium foil in packs of 150, for example gold, silver, red, pink, green, light blue or magenta, and sweet wrappers 10 x 10 cm.
  • Figures and special gifts: clear bags with a firm base in small, medium and large, clear bags with a gold base, a high heel transport box, handbag praline packaging, a mini metal case and biscuit tins. Much of this is collected under special packaging.
  • Finishing touches: clip-on bows in various colours, card tags 7 x 4 cm and bag closures.

Praline cases: protection and presentation

Cases keep every chocolate in place and stop them knocking together in transit. Among our praline cases you will find paper cases in gold, silver, brown, black, white, red, multicoloured and retro, plus Christmas and Halloween designs. Aluminium cases, for example heart-shaped ones, hold their shape and can be filled directly with firm ganache.

Tips from our bakery: packing and transport

  • Only pack chocolates once they are completely set and well chilled. Wear gloves so you leave no fingerprints on the shine.
  • Keep finished gifts cool, dry and dark. A fridge with cheese or vegetables is not suitable, as chocolate absorbs odours.
  • Choose a box in which nothing slides about; a little tissue paper at the edge helps if there is space left.
  • Fix figures in a gold-base box with a little chocolate so they survive a car journey.
  • On warm days, use a cool bag with a base, for example 25 x 22 x 15 cm or 50 x 33 x 20 cm, together with a 13 x 9 cm ice pack.

Frequently asked questions

Paper or aluminium cases?

Paper looks classic and fits almost any box. Aluminium is sturdier and works well if you want to use the case itself as a mould for ganache.

How do I transport chocolates in summer?

Pack them well chilled, put the box in a cool bag with an ice pack and keep it out of direct sun. In the car, the bag belongs in the air-conditioned cabin, not the boot.

Where can I learn to make chocolates?

Our praline basic course in Adliswil teaches you the basics, and we also offer praline and chocolate courses as company or team events throughout Switzerland. To get started at home, try making truffles yourself in white, milk and dark.
