A star cookie cutter is a must for Christmas baking: from Mailänderli to cinnamon stars, no shape turns up on the baking tray more often. Here you will find over 45 star cookie cutters, from a small 3 cm star to a large 18 cm star, individually or in sets.

Which star cookie cutters do we stock?

  • Six-pointed stars in every size: Ø 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.5, 15 and 18 cm, so there is the right size for every recipe.
  • Five- and eight-pointed stars: five-pointed in mini, small, medium and large, eight-pointed in small and large.
  • Cinnamon star cutters: 4 and 5 cm, plus a professional 5 cm cutter.
  • Special shapes: comet (small, large, curved), mini shooting star, Christmas star, snow star, star in a ring, star in a star, star with a hat and a star with a wooden embosser.
  • Sets: stars in sets of 3, 4, 6 and 10, a set of 3 professional cutters, a 2-piece PME set and a 6-piece Wilton set of fluted stars.

For filled biscuits there are star plunger cutters in 4 and 4.8 cm, the fluted 2-in-1 star and the matching star outer ring. You will find more shapes with a plunger among our plunger cutters.

Tips from our bakery

Stars are unforgiving: if the dough is too warm, the points tear or lose their shape. Roll shortcrust between two sheets of baking paper, chill it for half an hour and only then cut it out. For cinnamon stars, dip the cutter in cold water or sugar now and then, as the mixture is sticky. Everything for this classic is in our cinnamon star cutters category and in our cinnamon star recipe. Small stars of 4 to 5 cm bake evenly and fit nicely into a biscuit tin; from 10 cm upwards they make a gift or a tree decoration.

Frequently asked questions

Which star is best for Mailänderli?

Mailänderli are Switzerland's classic butter biscuits for Christmas. A five- or six-pointed star of 4 to 6 cm works well; slightly rounded points are less likely to break when you brush the biscuits with egg yolk. Our favourite recipe: Mailänderli.

Five, six or eight points – what is the difference?

The five-pointed star is the classic shape, the six-pointed one looks like a snow crystal, and the eight-pointed one is more delicate but needs well-chilled dough. More festive designs are waiting among all our Christmas cookie cutters.
