Round cake rings are the tool for mousse cakes, entremets, cheesecakes and layered cakes with clean, straight sides. We stock over 60 items: rings from 12 to 30 cm diameter, heights from 2 to 10 cm, adjustable and expandable rings, dessert rings for individual portions and cake dividers.

Which round cake rings do we offer?

Fixed rings come in many diameters, for example 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 cm at 6 cm high, plus 3, 5 and 2 cm versions. The Decora rings are 4.5 cm high. To cover several sizes with one ring, choose an adjustable ring (18 to 30 cm diameter, 7 or 10 cm high) or an expandable ring (13 to 31 cm diameter, 7 cm high). Dessert rings of 5 to 8 cm diameter and 3.5 to 6 cm high are made for individual portions and petits gâteaux. The cake dividers (plastic or stainless steel, 8 to 18 pieces) mark the portions on the cake.

Which height for which cake?

  • 2 cm and 3 cm: flat bases, tarts and fruit cakes
  • 5 cm: cheesecake, mousse and cakes with few layers
  • 6 cm: the classic cake with several layers and cream
  • 10 cm: tall cakes with many layers

Finding the right ring

First think about what you want to build. For a cake of a set size, take a fixed ring: it sits firmly and the edge stays exact. If you often work in different sizes, an adjustable or expandable ring pays off because you only have one piece to store. For petits gâteaux and desserts, dessert rings are the right choice since you can stand several on a tray at once. The base should fit the ring exactly, or the filling will run out underneath. If needed, cut it using the ring itself as a template.

Using a cake ring: tips from the bakery

Stand the ring on a base from the cake boards & cake discs before you layer. Line the inside wall with a cake strip and the cake releases cleanly after chilling. To release it, hold a warm cloth around the ring for a moment and lift straight up. The product page says whether a ring may go in the oven; for baking, see the baking frames & cake rings.
