Flower and leaf shaper

If the flowers and blossoms made of sugar mass are to retain their shape, it is absolutely necessary to dry them well before attaching them to the cake or cupcake. The same applies to leaves and individual petals, which are then tied into a large flower. With this shaper stand you can dry individual leaves, assembled flowers and large flowers on wire.

Flower and leaf shaper - application

Cut out a flower or leaf from fondant, flower paste or other modeling clay. You can also cut out several individual petals. Use a modeling tool or embosser to give the flower or petal a beautiful pattern as well as filigree edges. Especially beautiful are, for example, some leaf veins or a very thin edge, this may also be slightly torn in one place or another.

Once the flower has been formed, carefully place it in the flower former and, if necessary, briefly sort the leaves again. If you have several individual petals, they are arranged and glued together with some edible glue. For extra large sugar flowers, dry the leaves a bit and tie them together. You can also create large roses by attaching a flower cone to wire and then attaching the individual leaves around it. Larger flowers on wire are then hung from the wire around the edge so that they face down. This works best on the edge of the former, but you can also use the air holes for this purpose. These optimally support the drying process and ensure that air also reaches the bottom of each piece. If desired, you can paint the flowers and leaves a little more. To do this, put some powder paint on a piece of household paper. Then use a fine brush to apply the color, for example, inside the flower or on the outer edge of the petals and leaves. With some egg white icing and beads you can additionally decorate the center of the flowers.

So let the individual flowers and leaves dry until they are hardened and can be used as decoration. The former does not need to be cleaned, but should it be soiled by color powder or another mass, it can be briefly rinsed with a little dishwashing liquid. If you want to dry many flowers at once, you can easily put a second drying stand on the edge of the first former.
